Good, Better, Best

We have a 13 year old investigator who is awesome, very mature and actually cares about learning, which is a breath of fresh air after talking to hundreds of people that do not give a single crap. Anyway he came to church last week without his family, and he always tells us he tries to get his dad to come but he wont, and yesterday he came! the first time in years, no one at church recognized the dad (who is actually a member just suuuper less active) they thought the dad was an investigator, so yeah basically the 13 year olds example brought the dad to church, and he's awesome, he sits outside with us and patiently listens to our lessons, while getting eaten alive by hoards of mosquitos, he's awesome

IDK if i wrote this but a few weeks ago the bishops son who is an rm gave a super good talk he said :

1. Even super heroes have bad days

2. We choose to be the elect of God by being in church

Speaking of talks, go read or listen to

The Team on Their Backs

At the Inca ruins
Our recent converts that just moved cause their landlady gave them crap for being mormon brought an investigator to church yesterday, and i hadn't even told them that he was an investigator, they put the team on their backs and they've been members for 2 weeks

Contacted a guy the other day who lives in a different area but allllways saw the missionaries, it was funny cause he dead serious was like " i didn't know missionaries actually talked to people, i always saw them but thought they were just going to church all the time or something, i didn't know they taught people"

Had a nice relax day last week for carnival, its a holiday, i don't really understand it its just a nationwide water fight, just google carnival

Went to members house (cause we werent allowed to work for safety reasons i guess) and spent most of it with them, amazing food and water balloon volleyball

Go rewatch or listen to these talks

The rains came down and the floods came up

Before

After

Cochabamba Bolivia is flooded right now

Not to sound horrible but when minor disasters like this happen i like it because i can see how awesome people are, people come from alll over the city to help, donating all sorts of food and resources, working together with strangers to help other, complete strangers, everyone just comes together and serves so i like that part, obviously its super sad that many homes were destroyed, but it was nice cause people came around with food, i would sit down for a sec to rest and someone would pass by and give me a sandwich and some chocolate milk, it was pretty awesome

I also got to see coco this week, the new disney movie, its suuuuuuper good, everyone go watch it then go to the temple after

I love being with such awesome members, it helps me to feel at home in a house with a loving, faithful family, even tho im so far away from home

Miracle for the Baptisms!

Kind of a hard week changing the routine with a new comp but err thing is good now, i just miss speaking english a little, its super helpful to be able to speak it without anyone understanding, not that we used it to talk bad about people haha

Four baptisms: this mom and her three girls were baptized. Super sad their dad died of cancer but in a year they will do his temple work.

So little miracle of the week, in bolivia they used propane tanks and these little water heaters for the baptismal fonts, and the water wasn't heating up and like 30 min before the baptism we realized the gas had already run out, and its not like we could just run to walmart cause 1. there's no walmart and 2 we don't have a car, to get gas you wait in your house for the truck to drive through your neighborhood with the propane tanks then you run out and buy one, so i had no idea how to get a propane tank, plus our phone fell in the font and i didn't want to use it cause i didn't want it to fry, and the water was super cold and the girls would've freaked out, soooo thankfully the soaking wet phone worked and i called a member and he sent me a propane tank in a taxi, it just came up to the church, honked, i came out and grabbed the tank, i felt like i had just gotten a care package after a 4 kill streak in call of duty it was awesome, so i got the water heated, and everything went well, it was lukewarm and they were cold, so with the freezing water they would've died, so thankful for that member

Went to the temple after, i will be accepting temple applications for future wife prospects in 29 short weeks

My comps first day every single appointment canceled except one so we walked  a toooonn and it was super hot, great way to break him into colcapirhua, but the rest of the week was better, its nice to have a horrible day cause you know the next day cant really be that bad haha

That was the week
