High on the Mountain Top

I'm on the top! wahoo
Kayso it was a crazy week

Not really we just had no time cause we had to go to a doctor that's far away to do stool samples :D which took up a lot of time, but good news is no parasites and my stomach is fine rn

Also we had zone conference and since were outside of the city we run everything, ie get the food for everyone, teach, conduct, do the mission reports, etc. so we spent a lot of time doing that and not much time to work

So i love teaching people english and we have fun with it sometimes, we have a friend that sells souvenirs and we know the prices of everything so we know all her stuff is suuuper expensive (relatively) just cause her store is in a nice part of town, so she sells these pants that ive bought in other places for 30 Bs but she sells them for 50, so when she asked us how to say it in english (theres a lot of european tourists) we said the word was "rip off" lollll so we had her practice and shes like "Y aqui tengo algunos "rip off's" por solamente 50 Bs!"

So yeah that was the week, finding food, preparing a lesson, and sitting in an extremely slow bus going to the doctors :D

We went on a super cool hike today in a place called betanzos, this computer isnt working well and we dont have a ton of time so ill send pics next week

Have a good week all!

Cerro Rico mountain near Potosi

Bout to drop into single digit weeks, were at 10 right now

No pics this week sorry

People here are really poor which makes me feel bad but theyre happy anyway so i guess it doesnt matter

The area is hard

Bolivian food is not for the weak of heart or the weak of stomach

Im ok though

Everyone here is a self professed doctor, i mention im not feeling great and they have 19 different teas and home remedies that dont really do anything, and my stomach becomes the main point of conversation which i really dont like

This is my 92nd week in the mission, 86th in Bolivia, no upcoming baptisms, so not much to talk about

See ya

Mission Miracles

New Comp Elder Lehman, super cool, officially my last comp

11 mo weeks

A 6 year old kid of an investigator family tried to hand me a coin for one boliviano yesterday and i asked him why and he said it was tithing (this is why kids go to heaven)

Little miracle of the week, it's getting too cold for just a sweater and a jacket, and we were at members and they had a giant parka that was too big for any of them that had been sitting in their closet for years so they gave that to me which has saved my life cause it's cold here

Theres not a whole lot of investigators and we can only visit members so many times so we have to knock a good amount of doors and this week it was freezing butt cold and we were just knocking doors and this nice old lady let us in to sit down and talk to her for like an hour, off a contact which usually never happens so the Lord saved us from the cold

Weekly Carnage Report

Pensionista and her fam

Chillin at a member's house, she whips out a bag of hard candies and is like here elder take some candy, I popped one and it was a fetching cough drop, they eat cough drops on purpose here ... like candy, which just shows how cold and dry it is haha

Stake Conference with Elder Calderon, a 70 of the area, super awesome, gave a great talk about marriage for 45 minutes

I'm officially receiving my last comp tomorrow, Elder Lehman, another american so my spanish might suck, just kidding I'm latino at this point

12 more weeks, its surreal and bittersweet to know that its nearing an end, theres definitely a lot of mixed feelings, the mission has been beyond brutal, and yet I really think about it sometimes and I know that I will miss it
