The Beginning...

After 24 hours of travel, Elder Swenson made it safely to Cochabamba, Bolivia! We've been on Google earth checking out his first area: Quillacolla. President and Sister Hansen are very kind and caring, which puts our minds at ease.

Until we get his first email from Bolivia, here are some fun facts:
  • Cristo de la Concordia is a statue of Jesus Christ located atop San Pedro Hill east of Cochabamba. It is accessible by cable car, or by climbing 2,000 steps. The statue is 132.7 feet high.
  • It was modeled after the statue Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro and is larger, although the one in Rio is on a higher hill.
